Practice long and short with 1x to 1000x leverage at live prices — with the real liquidation math, not a game. MarginPad's simulator opens in your browser without a sign-up: 60+ crypto perpetual pairs, 20+ US stocks, forex, indices and gold, stop-loss and take-profit, up to $100,000 margin per position, and $0 at risk.

A leverage trading simulator lets you open leveraged long and short positions with virtual money at real market prices. Leverage multiplies both your profit and your loss: a 10x position gains or loses 10% of your margin for every 1% the price moves — and if the move goes far enough against you, the position is liquidated and the margin is gone. That mechanic is exactly what wipes out most new leverage traders, and it is exactly what a simulator lets you experience for free.
MarginPad simulates it honestly: the liquidation price is computed with the same isolated-margin formula real futures exchanges use, including a maintenance-margin buffer. A 100x position that would blow up in a real account blows up here too, at the same price.
Isolated margin, 0.5% maintenance margin — the adverse price move that liquidates the position:
| Leverage | Move to liquidation | What that means |
|---|---|---|
| 5x | -19.9% | Survives normal volatility; room to manage the trade |
| 10x | -9.95% | A bad day can end it; stop-loss strongly advised |
| 25x | -3.98% | An average daily range can liquidate you |
| 50x | -1.99% | One sharp candle is enough |
| 100x | -1.00% | Routine noise liquidates you |
| 500x | -0.20% | Spread plus one tick cluster can do it |
| 1000x | -0.10% | Effectively a coin flip measured in seconds |
Check any coin and entry price precisely with the BTC liquidation calculator or the full calculator suite.
Open any pair, set your margin and slide the leverage from 1x to 1000x. The terminal shows your exact liquidation price before you confirm.
Fill at the live price. Add a stop-loss and take-profit — the terminal shows what each level means in dollars and percent of margin.
Your P&L moves tick by tick. Manage the position, take partial profits, or watch the liquidation hit — and learn the lesson at a price of $0.
Leverage is the single most common way new traders lose their first account. Not because they picked the wrong coin — because they never felt how fast 50x moves against them until real money was on the line. In a simulator you can deliberately burn positions at every leverage tier and build an instinct for what each multiplier actually feels like: how tight the stop has to be, how much noise a level absorbs, what funding costs over days.
MarginPad also shows you where the rest of the market gets liquidated: the free liquidation heatmap and live liquidations feed put your practice in context — you can watch a cascade happen and understand why your own liquidation price matters.

Yes. MarginPad lets you practice with any leverage from 1x to 1000x on major crypto pairs (per-symbol caps apply, e.g. 100x-200x on smaller alts) using live prices and a virtual balance. It is free and opens without a sign-up.
Yes. Positions use the same isolated-margin liquidation formula real futures exchanges use, including a maintenance-margin buffer. At 100x a roughly 1% adverse move liquidates you — in the simulator exactly as it would in a real account.
Start at 3x-10x. At 10x your liquidation sits roughly 10% away, which leaves room to learn stop-loss placement. High leverage (50x+) is worth experiencing in a simulator precisely because it teaches how little room there is — a 50x position dies on a 2% move.
Yes. Prices stream live from a real exchange feed and your P&L moves tick by tick, so the experience matches a real leveraged account with zero money at risk.
Yes. The same account trades US stocks, forex pairs, stock indices and gold as leveraged positions with realistic per-class leverage caps and fees.
