Free crypto widgets for WordPress
One small plugin, four live crypto widgets, four shortcodes. A liquidation calculator, the Fear & Greed index, a real-time liquidation feed and a crypto economic calendar — free forever, no API key, no account, nothing written to your database.
Download the plugin (.zip)Install it in three steps
- In wp-admin go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and pick the zip you just downloaded.
- Click Install Now, then Activate.
- Paste a shortcode into any post, page or text widget. The full reference also lives in Settings → MarginPad Widgets.
The four shortcodes
| Shortcode | What it renders |
|---|---|
[marginpad_liquidation_calculator coin="BTC"] | Live liquidation calculator for any coin — long and short, isolated margin, current price loaded automatically. |
[marginpad_fear_greed] | Crypto Fear & Greed index with yesterday and last-week readings. |
[marginpad_liquidations] | Real-time liquidation feed aggregated from nine exchanges, refreshed every ten seconds. |
[marginpad_calendar] | Crypto economic calendar: FOMC, CPI and NFP dates plus crypto-native events. |
Every shortcode accepts width (360 or 100%), height in pixels and credit="no" to hide the credit link. The calculator also takes coin — any listed ticker, for example coin="ETH".
Liquidation calculator
The widget most trading blogs want: readers enter an entry price, leverage and direction and immediately see where the position would be force-closed. It is the natural companion to any article about leverage or liquidation.
Fear & Greed and the live liquidation feed
The sentiment gauge is the single most embedded crypto widget on the web, and the liquidation feed is data most sites pay a subscription for — here both are free and self-updating.
[marginpad_fear_greed]
[marginpad_liquidations]Why it will not slow your site down
Each widget is a sandboxed iframe served from marginpad.io, so it cannot touch your theme, conflict with another plugin or break on a WordPress update. Removing the plugin removes it completely — there is nothing left behind to clean up.
What the widgets are actually pulling
The calculator uses live prices from our multi-exchange price cascade, the same feed behind the liquidation calculator and Paper Trade. The liquidation feed comes from a dedicated collector watching nine exchanges — the same stream behind the Rekt feed. The calendar is the curated crypto economic calendar, with FOMC and CPI dates maintained by hand rather than scraped.
FAQ
Is the plugin free?
Completely. There is no paid tier, no API key and no account. These are the same widgets running on marginpad.io, and keeping the credit link visible is the only thing we ask.
Will it slow down my site?
No. Every widget is a lazy-loaded iframe, so nothing is fetched until a visitor scrolls to it, and the plugin adds no scripts or styles to your front end.
Can I use the widgets without WordPress?
Yes — every widget is also a plain iframe that works on Ghost, Webflow, Squarespace or hand-written HTML. The embed codes are on the widgets page.
Does it collect visitor data?
No cookies, no tracking, no database writes. The plugin renders iframes and nothing else.
Is it on the WordPress.org plugin directory?
Not yet — for now install it from the zip above. It is GPLv2 licensed, so you are free to modify it for your own site.
