How to read ETF flows

US spot ETFs hold real Bitcoin and Ethereum to back their shares, so every dollar of net inflow forces the fund to buy the underlying asset — and every dollar of outflow forces a sale. That makes the daily net flow one of the cleanest reads on institutional demand. A run of green (inflow) days signals accumulation and adds persistent buy pressure; a run of red (outflow) days signals distribution. The bars above show the net flow across all funds each trading day; the fund breakdown shows which issuers hold the most.

The funds that matter

BlackRock’s IBIT dominates Bitcoin ETF assets, with Fidelity’s FBTC, Grayscale, Bitwise (BITB) and ARK (ARKB) making up most of the rest. On the Ethereum side, BlackRock’s ETHA leads. Assets under management (AUM) tells you the total size each fund has accumulated; the daily flow tells you the direction right now. Read flows alongside funding rates and liquidations to separate spot-driven demand from leverage-driven moves.
