Bitcoin (BTC) is the world's first decentralized cryptocurrency. It was introduced in 2008 by an unknown person or group using the name Satoshi Nakamoto and launched in 2009. Bitcoin changed the financial world by allowing people to send and receive digital money without depending on traditional banks or central authorities. Today, Bitcoin is one of the most recognized cryptocurrencies in the global digital asset market.

Bitcoin operates on blockchain technology, which is a public digital ledger that records transactions. Thousands of computers around the world help maintain and verify the network. This decentralized system makes Bitcoin transparent and difficult to manipulate. Transactions are secured through cryptography, and users can store their BTC in digital wallets.

One of Bitcoin's most important features is its limited supply. The Bitcoin protocol allows a maximum of 21 million coins to be created. This scarcity is one reason many investors consider Bitcoin a potential store of value. Unlike traditional currencies, which central banks can issue, Bitcoin follows a predetermined supply schedule. New bitcoins enter circulation through a process called mining.
